英语里有两个看起来意思差不多的词：refund 和 reimburse，中文里经常都被翻译成“退款”或“偿还”。但它们其实并不通用，用错了很容易让人一头雾水。
简单理解：
refund → 你花出去的钱退回来
reimburse → 你帮别人垫付的钱，对方还你
refund 主要指：你自己买了东西，然后不满意、退货或取消服务，想拿回原本花出去的钱。这种情况常见于购物、订票、缴费等。
它可以当名词，也可以当动词：
