Limiting tbe Buying of Cars or Not?

Beijing has placed strict restriction on the number of newly purchased carin the city and the policy bas sparked heated discussion. Some people supportthe policy, saying it,s a powerful method to cope with the severe trafficcongestion in the capital. With cars increasing drastically in the past fewyears, severe traffic jams occur not only in rush hours but at any time of theday now.

Others, however, aie strongly against the limitations. They argue that thegreat number of official cars, which are frequently used, is a big factor causingtraffic congestion. But the policy mainly aims at private cars and has no dearrestrictions on the use of official cars. Besides, car purchase limitation wouldhinder the development of China's automobile industry, and more people would losetheir jobs as a result.

Personally, I think the restriction of buying and use of cars, officialcars incladed, is inevitable and just a matter of time for Beijing. If thenumber of cars is not limited, there will be a huge disaster for theenvironment, road resources, the travel demands of normal people and theimprovement of living standards.

Travel by Bike自行车旅行

There are many ways of traveling. People may t ravel by plane if they want to t ravel far and reach their destination in a shorter time. I t is the most comfor table but expensive way. Most people travel by train because it is a less expensive way but the compar tments are cramped and stuffy. I like traveling by bike. I can set out when I like and stop when I like. I can go wherever I like so that I can enjoy delightful spots rarely visited by other travelers. When I feel tired, I sit down by the bike and have a good rest. Besides, I can save much money for tickets and much time in waiting for thet rain or bus. 参考范文:

Should Food Be Banned on the Subway?

Currently, some cities are considering a food ban on subways, which has sparked heated discussion. Some people say food should be banned because of the trash and rats they attract. And, garbage from discarded food can cause track fires. Beyond sanitary and mechanical concerns, food can also fiiel fist fights, as was discovered last week by one passenger who criticized a woman eating steamed stuffed bun on the subway.

However, some others are opposed to the idea. They argue that peopk like eating in the train in the morning because they don’t have enough time to eat at their houses or restaurants. Sometimes that may be the only time or meal a transit rider may be able to eat especially when traveling long distances. Besides, there are people, for example diabetics, who do require food at various times to maintain blood-sugar levels.

Personalty, rm against the ban becmise of the huge inconvenience it would cause commuters, and the expense involved in enforcing it. Still, I believe we should have a little common courtesy. I think we all have responsibility to try to treat our subway system and fellow riders with respect, and that extends to food as well.

英语六级写作范文:汽车的利弊

Advantages and disadvantages of private cars with the fantastic spur both in industry and in economy in china, the number of people who own private cars is on the rise. Some people have bought cars of their own, and others are planning to buy cars. But there have been two quite different views on this phenomenon.some claim that there are many advantages brought about by cars. First, the automobile industry provides jobs for countless workers and strong support for other industries. Second, if conditions permit, owning a car can make us work more efficiently. Finally, life will become more convenient.

A car allows one to move freely and with a car there is no need to wait for the bus in the cold or under the burning sun. However, others strongly object to the increase in developing private cars. They hold that automobiles will give rise to a series of problems. In the first place, as more and more cars are produced and run in the street, a large volume of poisonous gas will be given off, polluting the atmosphere and causing actual harm to the health of people.Next, private cars contribute to traffic congestion so greatly that the advantages gained in comfort and freedom are often cancelled out by the frustration caused by traffic jams. The last problem is the increasing number of car accidents that have killed and will kill a lot of people in a friction of a second. In my opinion, although automobiles have been playing a vital part in the daily activities of our society, they also bring us numerous troubles such as more serious environmental pollution, more traffic accidents and more energy consumption. They drink up huge amounts of fuel and throw out huge amounts of pollutants. Traffic accidents kill thousands and thousands of people each year and cripple more. Jams waste our precious time. Therefore i am against developing private cars.

英语六级作文范文:是否应该买车

Directions: In this section, you are asked to write a composition entitled Should people own cars or not? Your composition should be based on the outline given below. Your composition should be at least 150 words.

Outline:

1. 有人赞成个人买车。

2. 也有人持相反观点。

3. 你的看法。

6. Should People Own Cars or Not?

(a)

There is no denying the fact that it has been a hotly debated topic in China whether people should have their own cars. People’s opinions differ sharply on this issue. Some hold the positive view. They say that the car provides the most convenient form of transportation. Besides, a car is a comfortable way to travel, especially in winter. Finally, a driver is usually safe in his car when he is out at night.

Others, however, hold the opposite view. They say that there are many disadvantages to owning a car. For one thing, it can be very expensive to purchase and run a car. For another, owning a car can also cause worry and stress. It is exhausting to drive a car in heavy traffic. What is worse, cars are responsible for most of the smog in cities, which pollutes the environment seriously.

In spite of all the above mentioned, I still favor owning a car. The reason is that the car gives a person the freedom to schedule his own time. Though we are confronted with a problem of energy crisis, I am sure that the real solution will have to be a new kind of car, one that uses cheap, efficient fuel and does not contaminate the air.

(b)

Nowadays, an increasing number of people have become car owners. Yet there is no consensus on the development of private cars. Some people hold the positive view. They say that the car is the result of modern science and technology and everyone is entitled to enjoy it. They also argue that the development of private cars will vigorously stimulate the development of other industries and the whole national economy.

Others, however, hold the negative view. They point out that the increasing number of cars has led to a series of problems. First, they result in air pollution, which seriously damage people’s health. Secondly, too many cars on the road easily lead to traffic jams, which actually slow down the pace of life and work.

Weighing the pros and cons of these arguments, I am inclined to agree with the latter point of view. The government should put a ban on the development of private cars and exert more efforts to develop public transportation, such as buses and subways. In this way, we can both enjoy efficiency and a clean environment.
