Giant pandas live in a few mountain ranges in southwestern China. They are one of the world's rarest mammals. There are only about 1,600 pandas left in the wild and more than 300 pandas live in zoos or special centers around the world. Giant pandas look like black-and-white bears. They have black fur on ears, eyes, muzzle , legs, and shoulders. The rest of their coat is white. Pandas' thick coat can keep them warm in the cool forests . A wild panda spends much of its day resting, feeding, and seeking food. They eat fast and eat a lot. And they eat almost nothing but bamboo shoots and leaves . Pandas are shy . Many people like pandas and think that they are cute. But actually, giant pandas can be as dangerous as any other bears.
