Today is the first day of te new term. I got up early and checked my wintcr vacation homework before going to sclool.
While I was busy clearing up the books, Father came in with a glass of milk in his hand, "Drink it up, boy ."Father said to me gently.
I was in such a hurry that Ipaid no attention whether the milk was hot or not. I drank a mouthful and cried with the sound of the broken glass. "What's the matter.?" Father asked anxiously. "You didn't tell me the milk was so hot. I got a blister through being scalded." "Oh, it's my fault. Are you Ok?" Father turned to the kitchen after he was certain there was nothing serious with me, "There is some more in the kitchen. I'll bring it for you. Wait for me. I'II be back soon."
I was so angry with Father that I said"No. I won't be scalded again." Then I put all I wanted into my bag and wanted to go to school without breakfast. But I was astonished at what I saw when I turned around. Father was cooling the milk by pouring it from one glass to the other again and again. "Don't worry. It'll be Ok soon. It's bad for your health without breakfast. "Father said with a smile of apology. Tears came into my eyes. How rude I was just now! How regretful I was! I took the glass from my father's hand and drank it up without a stop.
What a good father I have!

The wind gently murmured, puffed and sometimes sighed like a summer breeze lifting the leaves along the livelong night. The cat was curling up quiet in her bed.The mouse was sleeping carefree in his gallery. The dog was lying swwet on the sofa.Even the earth itself was sleeping in tranquility, exept that some house door faintly creaked upon its hinge, telling us a remote inward warmth.Nature was at her midnight work with feathery flakes whirling down in the wind,as if she was showering her silvery seeds over the fields.
Finally I woke up.The floor creaked under my feet as I moved towards the window. The snow as warm as cotton was lying calmly upon the window sill and the stillness of the morning was extremely impressive.
The roofs were standing under their snow caps, while the eaves were wearing their glittering ornaments. The trees raised white arms to the sky on every side, and where there was a wall, there were some fantastic forms of snow stretching exhilarated in the dim landscape,as if Nature had carved her fresh desighs by night as models for man's art.
Silently,I opened the door and stepped outside to face the cutting air.The moon had already lost some of its glow and the land was bathed in a dull mist.A lurid light in the east proclaimed the approach of day while the weatern landscape was bleak with some spooky stillness like a wizard kingdom. What you could only hear was the creepy sounds, seemingly out of the hell----the barking of dogs, the hammering of blacksmith, the lowing of cows and the crying of pigs under the butcher's knife.
Gradually, the lurid light darkened and spread across the west.Every flower, every tree and
every weed were bathed in the sunshine.Suddenly,it turned out that all the sounds were not for any melancholy they suggested, but for their twilight bustle which was too solemn and mysterious for me.
I moved om,treading briskly along the road, the dry and crisped snow crunching under my feet.
This summer, I had some special days. I joined Dongzhou International Educational Exchange Summer Camp.
First, I will tell you about our foreign teachers, they are Shrina and Rebecca. They are friendly and beautiful. They are students at Oxford University.
We talked about many things: famous people, subjects in England, different jobs, our deal days, western star signs, what can we say in a restaurant and so on.
We know lots of things, like what the difference is between “chef” and “cook”, all the parts of the body…
We tried to write a letter to Principal Zhang. We made a play and we drew our own comics and tried to sell it. We gave some other students English lessons, we taught them about Chinese Dragon, Chinese Martial Arts and the Olympics.
Every afternoon, we played exciting games: Chinese Whispers, Tongue Twisters, Wheelbarrow, egg and spoon, three legs…
On the last day, we had a good time. We made black tea. We put tea bags, some milk and lots of water in to a big bowl, and then we stirred the tea until it became red and dark. Oh, it tasted good! Later, we used eggs, flour and milk to make many pancakes. To cook them is very interesting. When we finished it, the pancakes looked round and nice. We put some jam on it. How delicious! I won't ever forget it.
The summer Camp is a really good chance for me. I know the local things in England. I learned a lot and like English more. I also know better ways to learn English well.
I hope one day I can see you in England.

Li Ming and I took part in a wilderness survival program yesterday, which has become an unforgettable experience.
Yesterday morning we wore strong and comfortable shoes,
carried backpacks with the necessities in them and went to the mountain. We climbed a hill. On the top we saw a direction mark, which told us where to go. Down the hill, we came to a river. There were no boats but we had to cross it. Luckily, both of us had learned how to swim. But we shouldn't make our things in the backpacks wet. Seeing a piece of board, I got an idea. We put our backpacks on the board and swam in the water pushing the board. When getting to the other bank, with the compass we found north in which direction we walked half an hour. Finally, we arrived at the campsite. We set up a tent and made a bonfire.
The two of us spent the night in the forest.
We learned to use knowledge gained in classroom training to solve problems. It was quite an experience for both of us, which I'll never forget for the rest of my life.
About Examinations
I don't remember how many examinations I've taken since I began my schooling. Truth to tell, I don't like examinations at all. I dare say that, in fact, no student likes examinations.
We often hear people say “Examinations are teachers' magic weapon”, so most of us may think it is our teachers who give us students so many examinations. But I don't think so. Almost all of them have once been students before they became teachers. We don't like examinations, and neither do our teachers, which may be reasonably concluded. What's more, the more examinations we take, the more time will be taken from our teachers and the more troubles our teachers have to take.
It is the system in our country, I think, that gives us students so many examinations. If there were no entrance examinations, and all the students could go up to the higher grades without competition, there would not be so many examinations in primary and middle schools. So it is important and necessary to reform the entrance system. Only in this way can examinations be GREatly reduced, and then all the students will be happier.
