Summer

Summer is bright . It is a hot season. July is the hottest month in China. When summer comes, the days are getting longer, and the nights are getting shorter .

In early summer, the fields in South China are green. The grain seedlings in the fields are growing well. Peasants are working hard in their fields. Some are spreading manure or applying fertilizer there. Some are spraying insecticide on rice seedlings .

In late July and August, the early grain crops in the fields are getting ripe and promising a rich harvest . Peasants feel happy and gay at the sight of the bumper harvest.
