Lark said, “I sing to amuse myself, making myself happy every day.”
Cuckoo said, “My voice is used to interpret the tragedy. You see, each time I sing, I will bleed.”
Magpie said, “My voice is used to announce good news, so people all like me.”
Oriole said, “It is not the time to hold a solo concert.”
Thrush said, “I sing to those people who love life.”
The birds were very excited that they were just about to sing aloud when a discordant sounded, “Lark's singing is not powerful, Oriole's is not deep, Magpie's is too frivolous ...In nature, who has heard such a beautiful sound of nature? Listen, this wonderful song — caw ...”
On hearing, all the other birds flapped away, leaving it alone tasting its “sounds of nature” on the branch. It shook its head and sighed, “People who know how to appreciate art become less and less!”

这些鸟正兴高采烈地想要一展歌喉，这时只听一个不和谐的声音说：“百灵唱歌一点力气也没有，黄鹂嗓音不够低沉，喜鹊的声音太过轻佻……这世界上，有谁听过这么美妙的自然之声？听吧，我这美妙的歌喉——哇……”
听到这声音，其他所有的鸟儿都拍拍翅膀飞走了，就留下它独自在枝头对自己的“自然之声”孤芳自赏。它摇摇头，叹气道：“懂得欣赏艺术的人真是越来越少了！”
这只鸟是只乌鸦。
