1.imagine是及物动词，后面可以接名词、代词和从句作宾语。

I can just imagine his reaction. 
我完全可以想象出他的反应。

I couldn't imagine why he would want to be alone. 

我想像不出他为什么想一个人待着。

2.imagine doing
Try to imagine being on the moon.
设想一下在月球上的情形。

3.imagine后还可以接复合宾语。

He likes to imagine himself a flyer.
他喜欢想象自己是个飞行员。

Imagine yourself rich and famous.
设想一下你自己既有钱又有名的情形。

4.imagine后接带有as的宾语补足语。

I had imagined you as a big tall man.
我原以为你是个大高个儿。
