Many people are afraid of spiders because of their frightening appearance. But what are spiders afraid of? Actually, spiders have many enemies because they are small. Larger animals such as birds, toads , lizards and monkeys always hunt spiders. Some ticks will attach themselves to a spider and eat away at it. One of the spider's worst enemies is the spider-wasp. The female wasp will paralyze the spider by stinging it and then lay eggs into spiders. When an egg hatches, baby wasps will eat the spider. We humans are also enemies of spiders. Besides stepping on them, pesticides we use to kill other insects can also kill spiders.
