THE SUNTAN 晒黑了

It was a true story that occurred in an African country, where the white government implemented the policy of “apartheid ” that didn't allow blacks to enter the public places special for whites. Whites didn't like blacks, thinking they were inferior race and trying to avoid them.

One day a white girl with long hair sunbathed on the beach. Due to excessive fatigue , she fell asleep. When she woke up, the sun had gone down.

At this moment, feeling hungry, she walked into a restaurant near the beach.

Pushing open the door, she entered the restaurant, picked a chair by the window and sat down. She kept sitting for 15 minutes. No waiter came to serve her. She saw those servants busily attending on the customers who came later than she did but ignoring her. Suddenly filled with anger, she wanted to go to call those servants to account.

When she rose and was ready to go forward, she saw a large mirror before her. She looked at herself in the mirror, tears welling up.

It turned out that she had been suntanned.

At this moment, she truly felt how blacks were discriminated by whites!

这是一个发生在非洲某国的真实故事。白人政府实行了“种族隔离”政策，该政策规定在白人出入的公共场所，黑人不得进入。白人不喜欢黑人，他们认为黑人是劣等种族，对他们避之唯恐不及。

一天，一个长头发的白人女孩在沙滩上享受日光浴。她之前太累，所以睡着了，直到太阳落山才醒来。

这时，饥肠辘辘的她走进沙滩附近的一家餐厅。

女孩推开门走进餐厅，挑了一个靠窗的椅子坐了下来。她足足坐了15分钟都没有服务员来招呼。只见服务员连比她晚来的人都忙着招待，就是不搭理她。她生气极了，要去责问那些服务员。

起身往前走的时候，她看到身前有一面大镜子。看着镜子里的自己，女孩泪如泉涌。

原来，她是被晒黑了。

这时，她真切地感觉到了白人对黑人的歧视有多么严重！

早在荷兰统治时期南非就有种族隔离。Apartheid(南非种族隔离制度)作为正式政策出台于1948年的南非普选，时值南非国民党执政时期。国内占大多数的黑人饱受其苦，他们在政治、教育、医疗、海滩及公共服务等方面的权利受到大幅限制。20世纪50年代起，民众起义及抗议事件造成了反种族隔离被禁止和反种族领袖入狱，曼德拉就是其中一位。1990年2月11日，在监狱中度过了27年的曼德拉重获自由，之后当选非洲人国民大会全国执委主席，他主张以和平方式和南非白人政权调解协商。1994年他带领非洲人国民大会在民主普选中胜出，曼德拉成为南非历史上首位黑人总统。至此，这项始于二次世界大战后、持续了近半个世纪之久的种族隔离政策正式结束。1993年10月15日曼德拉和时任南非总统的德克勒克获颁当年的诺贝尔和平奖。
