Quite a few years ago, at the Seattle Special Olympic , nine runners got ready to run the 100 meters. All of them were disabled .
At a gunshot , they started to run. However, one fell over several times and began to cry. The other eight heard the crying. They slowed down and looked back. Then they all turned around and went back. Every one of them!
One girl bent down and kissed the runner and said,“This will make it better.”Then the nine runners walked together arm in arm to the finish line. Everyone in the stadium stood, and the cheering went on for several minutes.
People who were there are still telling the story. Why? Because deep down we know that what matters in life is not to win for ourselves, but to help others win.

很多年前，在西雅图特殊奥林匹克运动会上，九名赛跑选手准备赛跑100米，他们都是残疾人。
发令枪一响，他们便起步跑。然而，其中一名选手连续摔倒了几次，忍不住大哭起来。另外八名选手听到了哭声，他们放慢脚步，回头观望。接着他们都转身往回走。所有赛跑选手都往回走！
一个女孩弯下腰亲吻这名选手，说道：“这会好过些吧。”接着，九位赛跑选手挽着胳膊共同向终点走去。运动场里所有人都起立，欢呼声持续了好几分钟。
当时在场的人们至今还在讲述着这个故事。为什么呢？因为我们深切地懂得，人生中要紧的不是为自己赢得胜利，而是帮助他人成为赢者。
