1. 表示误会、误解或弄错等，通常用作表语。

It appears to me that you are all mistaken. 
我看你们都错了。

表示“在……方面弄错”，其后通常接介词about。

He is mistaken about her. 
他误会她了。

有时后接in doing sth，表示“错误地……”。

You are mistaken in thinking that they will help you. 
你要是认为他们会帮助你，那你就错了。

要加强语气，除可用very, very much, quite, seriously等修饰外，还可用sadly修饰。

If you think I’m going to help, you’re sadly mistaken. 
如果你认为我会帮忙，那你就完全错了。

2. 表示错误的行为、想法或犯错误的人等，多用作定语。

That’s a mistaken idea. 
那是个错误的想法。

I helped him in the mistaken belief that he needed me. 
我误以为他需要我，所以去帮助他了。
